When fall is rapidly approaching and the air starts to turn slightly crisp, I always look back on the fun in the sun I had just a few months prior. I have always been a beach girl, so I love looking back on time spent feeling the sand, waves, and coastal breeze on my skin.

Last month I enjoyed some time at the beach, but instead of searching for seashells, I searched for shark teeth! Last year I saw beachgoers searching the sand at night, which prompted a few questions. So, after consulting the interweb, I waited for low tide and went hunting. To my delight, there was a suitable bounty to be found. What that bounty lacked in size, I made up for in quantity!

In between lounging around and snacking when the feeling struck, I managed to see some beautiful scenery. The weather was gorgeous in August, so the timing was perfect to be out and about. Kayaking along the river was a highlight.

Everywhere I turned, I saw beautiful wildlife. It’s funny…I didn’t see any wildlife on the dolphin-watching cruise, but along the water by the boat docks I saw this guy!

Vacations and summer are two things that don’t last long enough. But…fall is awfully nice and I’m excited for the next season to arrive. As we bid summer adieu, I’m glad to have made new warm-weather memories before putting away the bathing suits and pulling out the sweaters.
